Roof Painting and Restoration Process
1. Inspection and Cleaning
Our process starts with a comprehensive inspection to identify any areas of concern. This is followed by a thorough pressure clean to safely and effectively remove dirt, moss and algae. This cleaning not only prepares the roof but also prolongs the roofs lifespan. Additionally, we pressure clean the insides of the gutters to remove leaves, debris and buildup. This ensures optimal water flow and prevents potential damage caused by overflow.

2. Repointing Process
Our repointing process includes both minor and major repointing depending on the roof’s needs. For minor repointing on a roof paint, we still repair the entire ridge and do not do touch ups. Major repointing during roof restoration involves thoroughly renewing the pointing and resetting ridge tiles, enhancing structural integrity and extending the roofs lifespan.
3. Broken Tile Replacement
For roof repainting, we replace up to 10 tiles as roofs requiring just a paint are generally in better condition. During roof restoration, we replace up to 20 tiles, addressing more extensive damage and ensuring your roof is both aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound.

4. Prepare with Surface Primer
We apply one coat of surface primer to prepare the roof surface for painting or restoration. This essential step ensures optimal adhesion of subsequent layers, enhancing the durability and longevity of the finish.
5. Two Coats of Roof Membrane
After the surface primer, we apply two coats of selected brand roof membrane. This ensures a durable and uniform finish, providing superior protection against weathering and extending the lifespan of your roof.

6. Clean and Clear site
At Lifecoat, we take pride in our commitment to cleanliness. After completing our roofing works, our team meticulously cleans the site, ensuring that your property is left nice and tidy. We remove any debris, unused materials, and equipment, leaving behind a neat and organized environment. This attention to detail extends to ensuring all access points are clear, so you can enjoy the results of our craftsmanship without any inconvenience. Our goal is not just to enhance your roof but also to leave a positive, lasting impression with a meticulously maintained workspace.
Ridges
Repointing process
After the roof has been cleaned, an assessment is made on the condition of the ridge. If the ridge is in good condition, then minor repointing is done.
If the roof requires restoration, then major repointing is required where the old pointing receives a light grind to remove loose materials and allow for a good and solid buildup of new pointing. This is achieved by applying the new pointing via trowel for a thicker application and results in the new pointing lasting longer. We don’t apply pointing by brush as we have found the application to be very thin which results in cracks appearing sooner and therefore more frequent maintenance.
